How to Play Tile Merge
Tile Merge is an authentic, phone-optimized version of the classic 2048 number puzzle. It is designed to run instantly in any mobile or desktop web browser with zero loading friction.
- Slide Tiles: Swipe Up, Down, Left, or Right on your touchscreen, or use the Arrow / WASD keys on your keyboard. Every tile slides across the board until it hits an obstacle or the edge.
- Merge Identical Numbers: When two tiles with the same number crash into each other during a slide, they fuse into a single tile with double the value (2 + 2 = 4, 4 + 4 = 8, 8 + 8 = 16, 1024 + 1024 = 2048).
- Build the 2048 Tile: Plan your moves carefully to construct higher numbers. Once you reach 2048, you win the round and can tap “Keep Going” to push for 4096 and higher records!
- Keep Grid Space Open: A new tile (either a 2 or a 4) appears in a random open slot after every valid slide. The game ends when all 16 slots fill up and no adjacent numbers can merge.

1. Corner Anchor Strategy
Pick one corner (such as bottom-right) and never move your highest tile away from it. Avoid swiping in the opposite direction (Up or Left) unless you have no other choice.
2. Snake Cascades
Organize numbers in descending order along rows in a zigzag snake pattern. When smaller tiles merge at the tail, they cause a chain reaction right into your anchor tile.
3. 1-Move Undo Safety Net
