How Plinko Drop works

Plinko is a drop game. Pick a bet in play coins and press Drop ball. The ball falls from the top of a triangle of pegs. At every peg it goes left or right. At the bottom it lands in a slot. Each slot has a number, like 0.5x or 26x. Your bet is multiplied by that number and the coins are paid to you when the ball lands.

These are free play coins. They have no cash value and you cannot buy or cash them out. When your balance runs low, a free refill button appears. See how this site treats play money.

Why the result is fair

At each peg the ball goes left or right with exactly equal chance, like a coin flip. The slot you land in is the number of right turns. The slots in the middle are reached most often. The edge slots are reached rarely, and they pay the most.

The game picks the whole left-right path first, one coin flip per peg. Then it spends your bet. The ball you watch is drawn along that same path, so what you see is exactly what was decided. The art and effects on the screen cannot change the result.

Rows and risk

Rows (8 to 16) are how many pegs the ball meets. More rows means more slots, and the edge slots pay more because they are harder to reach.

Risk changes the numbers under the board. Low risk pays small amounts in most slots. High risk pays little in the middle and a lot at the edges. For every mix of rows and risk, the long-run return is between about 95.5% and 97.6% of what you bet. That is an average over many drops. Any single drop can pay much more or much less.

Tips for playing it as a game

Frequently asked questions

Is this real money gambling?

No. Coins are free play money with no cash value.

Can the ball be rigged?

No. Each peg is an equal left or right chance. The ball is drawn along the path that was already chosen, so it always lands in the slot that pays you.

What does Auto x10 do?

It drops ten balls, a moment apart, with your current bet. It stops early if you cannot afford the next one. Press Stop to end it sooner.

What if I close the page while a ball is falling?

Your bet is already spent, so the result is saved. The payout is added the next time you open the game.
