How to play Daily Code
Daily Code is a free daily logic puzzle. A hidden code of five coloured pegs is picked for each calendar day, and everyone gets the same one. Tap colours to fill the five slots, then press Check. Each slot turns green when the colour is right and in the right place, yellow when that colour is in the code but in a different slot, and grey when it is not in the code at all. You have six tries.
Colours can repeat, so a code like red, red, blue, green, red is possible. Yellow marks are counted once per peg: if the code holds one red and you guess three reds in the wrong places, only one of them turns yellow. Every colour also carries its own symbol, so the board reads without colour. On a keyboard, keys 1 to 6 pick colours, Backspace deletes and Enter checks.
Three ways to crack it faster
- Spend your first try on four or five different colours. It tells you more than a guess with repeats.
- Keep every green where it is and move each yellow to a slot it has not tried yet.
- Grey means that colour is used up. Do not spend another slot on it unless you already have it marked green elsewhere.
Daily Code FAQ
Is everyone playing the same puzzle?
Yes. Every player gets the same code for the same calendar date. The puzzle follows your device's local date, so a new code arrives at your own midnight.
Can I play again if I lose?
No. Each daily puzzle has one attempt of six tries, which keeps results comparable when friends share them. You can practise on the last seven days from the archive list; archive plays never change your streak.
How does the streak work?
Your streak counts the days in a row you cracked that day's code on that day. Miss a day or run out of tries and it starts again from zero. Your best streak is kept.
Does the share card give away the answer?
No. The card only shows the green, yellow and grey squares for each try plus your try count, so friends can compare without spoilers.
Where is my progress saved?
In this browser on this device. There is nothing to install and no account needed.
